UNICEF calls for immediate action against Zika virus

As per the latest reports from UNICEF , United Nations Children’s Fund an immediate action has been called upon as a help to stop the spread of the Zika Virus that has been suspected as the main cause of the

cases of microcephaly in newborn babies in Brazil. According to the UNICEF senior advisor Xinhua ” We need to act really fast to stop an eliminate this virus as the pregnant women needs to protect themselves and the children .” We need to work upon the mosquitoes that are carrying these viruses. Almost more than 4000 cases have been seen in newborn babies in Brazil that was basically reported from October 22 2015 till January 26 2016 . 

Babies with Microcephaly are born with small heads and may have other disabilities also like lack of vision or speech an intellectual disability. UNICEF is launching an appeal for nearly $9 million to limit the spread of the virus and provide support to mothers and babies at risk of microcephaly.
