Maharashtra To Frame Policy On ‘Green Corridor’ To Transport Organs

NOC has been received to create a green corridor for the passage of ambulances that are carrying donor organs . It was a hurdle from long time ago. Maharashtra government is been seen as doing on paper work on providing green corridors to the ambulance that carry organs  to provide them a smooth passage to reach to the destination in desired time slot. According to the statement made by State Director of health Satish pawar” a police officer will be appointed separately to handle green corridor issues.” This policy will be eliminating the problems face by ambulance while they take organs . Accordingly the wait list for this transplant in Maharastra is 2000. There is basically a huge demand over organs such as Liver and Heart.  “Non Transplant Organ Retrieval Centers (NTORCs) are to be set up in hospitals having Intensive Care Units (ICUs). They will have counselors who will convince the family members of brain dead patients to donate the organs of the beings.
