Intel Has an ‘Army’ Working on Chips for the iPhone: Report

 

Probably the next iPhone could be shipped with an Intel based LTE modem chip in it. According to the recent reports , Intel’s XMM 7360 LTE modem , and cherry trail and SoFIA SoCs at MWC 2015 is being incorporated in the next iPhone devices. Intel has announced it recently. Intel is equipped with a thousands of employees working solely on the chip for the next iPhone version. As soon as the chipset was unveiled in march this news of Intel’s cooperation was started to spread out. If we talk about the recent iPhone models that has been launched or are in use then they are sporting the Qualcomm’s gobi 9*45 LTE modems in it. Which is basically like Intel’s XMM 7360 LTE chip,  that provides  3X carrier aggregation with up 60MHz in bandwidth on its  downlink.

Apple has been continuously trying to make a system on chip Soc model that packs the A series of processors along with the LTE modems. Intel has already started making a front to back model for ist SoC like Samsung and TSMC. This is why Intel is like more attractive in eyes of Apple. The new upcominh 10 nm process could outstand every other SoC.
