 Antibiotics May Not be Necessary After Appendicitis Surgery: Study

It has been founded in the studies that the patients that have received antibiotics after the appendicitis surgery has to remain in the hospital even one day after compared to the patients who have not.  study suggests that antibiotics may be harmful as more as good. According to the leader of the study Dennis Kim it stated that antibiotics may not be necessary  after surgery. Researchers have studied 410 adults post surgery for over five years and have come to this conclusion . Post operative antibiotic use may increase the  bed time for amongst 66.8 percent of the patients.
Under this study two types of patients were observed one with antibiotic dose and the other without antibiotic doses. Further the arousing complications were taken into considerations. 274 patients who had received antibiotics post surgery had to stay longer in the hospital. on an average one day more.  So it has been concluded that antibiotics are not without risks they do cover some risk factors.
