According to recent news RS Sharma who is the chairman of TRAI has announced that if a person is taking a new mobile connection and is linking it with KYC that is the Aadhar card than the heavy cost applied on new connections will positively come down to zero. This will be done once the authentication is done digitally. Aadhar being the tool the cost will be brought down to zero . In further statement he said that ” on a general basis if anyone takes a new mobile connection the approximate costs that come up is around Rs 150 because you need to go through many steps and fill the customer Acquisition Form that is CAF and also a headache of proper documentation keeps on wondering but once you take the new connection by linking it to your Adhara card than all these worries come to an end and is equal to zero . ” this was said in annual growth Net summit 2016 New Delhi.
Sharma as the UIDAI Director General and then as Department of Electronics and IT (Deity) Secretary had earlier recommended to DoT on making the whole process paperless.
